I'm a slightly nutty but loveable mom of 2 boys and the world's dumbest dog. I picked up a camera about 9 years ago to start capturing my growing family, and what began as a hobby has turned into a passion and career. I am a crazy plant lady and avid DIY-er who is always planning the next home project. Shiner Bock (draught where I can find it!) is my drink of choice, and I can usually be found at home in my comfy pants playing video games with my kids & hubby or holed up alone in my room reading true crime and mystery novels.
I once had a mentor tell me that some photographers are makers and some are finders. I am a finder. I find genuine moments of love, laughter, and quiet reflection and capture them in my work. My goal as a family photographer is to authentically represent your family in whatever season of life you happen to be in with as much joy as possible!
Where do your sessions take place?
How long are your sessions?
How much are mini sessions?
What kind of gear do you use?
Where should I get my photos printed?
Do you shoot weddings?
Do you travel outside of DFW?
I have spent many hours scouting outdoor locations and natural light studios all over DFW. I try to choose locations for your session that are convenient to both of us. I am also also open to location ideas if you have a special place in mind.
Some locations require permits or fees for use in photography. In these cases if a client chooses or requests such a location the client is responsible for paying all associated fees. Indoor natural light studios are also an additional fee unless included in a micro-mini session.
My sessions last anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes-no matter which collection you choose. I like to say the length of the session really depends on your family! Some families are comfortable in front of the camera and can be done quickly, others take a while to warm up and may take the whole hour. You know your family best, so keep their personalities in mind when choosing the session that is right for you.
I no longer offer traditional "mini" or "limited edition" sessions with set time limits (15 or 20 minutes). After nearly a decade of photographing families I have found that these kinds of sessions, while budget friendly, are stress-inducing for both your family and me. My current collections are structured so that my smallest session includes only 5 images but doesn't place a limit on our time together, and it is still budget friendly.
Most families choose mini sessions for one of two reasons: budget or time (or both!). Most families who contact me wanting a "mini" session do so because they don't think their family will last longer than 15 minutes in front of a camera. I hope you will schedule a session with me and find out what most of my NMP families already know: family pictures don't have to be stressful or boring! My Classic Mini is the perfect way to try out a "full" session without the stress of spending hours getting ready for a specific 15 minute time slot.
I use a Sony a7iii mirrorless camera with multiple prime lenses. I also have a collection of specialty Lens Baby lenses that are especially fun for sessions with seniors or kids!
I do not use props or special set ups except for Senior/Graduate sessions where requested.
Through NMP, of course! Professional labs do tend to cost a bit more, but you are guaranteed a perfect print every time that looks exactly as the image does on your screen. You also receive your prints often within days with no additional shipping charges (wall art such as canvas, acrylic, or metal may take longer).
If you choose to print on your own, I highly recommend MPix for high quality, professional prints.
I do not offer wedding photography. If you are looking for a wedding photographer with a style similar to my family photography, please feel free to contact me with your wedding date and budget and I'll be happy to send you some referrals!
Yes! I am happy to travel to you for an NMP session. Travel fees and local/state taxes will be applicable.
I am located in Argyle, TX, zip code 76226 for reference.
