Hi, I'm Nikki (she/her)!

I'm a slightly nutty but loveable mom of 2 boys and the world's dumbest dog. I picked up a camera about 9 years ago to start capturing my growing family, and what began as a hobby has turned into a passion and career. I am a crazy plant lady and avid DIY-er who is always planning the next home project. Shiner Bock (draught where I can find it!) is my drink of choice, and I can usually be found at home in my comfy pants playing video games with my kids & hubby or holed up alone in my room reading true crime and mystery novels.

I once had a mentor tell me that some photographers are makers and some are finders. I am a finder. I find genuine moments of love, laughter, and quiet reflection and capture them in my work. My goal as a family photographer is to authentically represent your family in whatever season of life you happen to be in with as much joy as possible!

FAQ

Where do your sessions take place?

I have spent many hours scouting outdoor locations and natural light studios all over DFW. I try to choose locations for your session that are convenient to both of us. I am also also open to location ideas if you have a special place in mind.

Some locations require permits or fees for use in photography. In these cases if a client chooses or requests such a location the client is responsible for paying all associated fees. Indoor natural light studios are also an additional fee unless included in a micro-mini session.

How long are your sessions?

Mini sessions are 30 minutes or less, Classic sessions are up to 1 hour long. I like to say the length of the session really depends on your family! Some families are comfortable in front of the camera and can be done quickly, others take a while to warm up and may take the whole hour. You know your family best, so keep their personalities in mind when choosing the session that is right for you.

Ultimate Sessions can have up to 4 hours of photographic coverage. For more information on Documentary style or Senior Sessions please contact me at hello@nikkimillerphotography.com.

What kind of gear do you use?

I use a Nikon D750 DSLR and a 24-70 mm lens. I also have a collection of specialty Lens Baby lenses that are especially fun for sessions with kids!

I do not use props or set ups unless for an advertised micro mini session.

Where should I get my photos printed?

Through NMP, of course! Professional labs do tend to cost a bit more, but you are guaranteed a perfect print every time that looks exactly as the image does on your screen. You also receive your prints often within days with no additional shipping charges (wall art such as canvas, acrylic, or metal may take longer).

If you choose to print on your own, I highly recommend MPix for high quality, professional prints.

Are you vaccinated for COVID-19?

Yes, I have been fully vaccinated with a 3rd booster shot as of 10/26/21. For indoor sessions I will continue to wear a mask, and I will wear a mask upon request for outdoor sessions as well.

Do you shoot weddings or seniors?

I do not offer wedding photography.

I accept a limited number of senior sessions in the Spring and Fall. For more details please see my Session Guide on my Investment page or contact me at nikkimillerphotos@gmail.com.

Do you travel outside of DFW?

Yes! I am happy to travel to you for an NMP session. Travel fees and local/state taxes will be applicable.
